Things to do with the kids this February half term

Baylham Park Farm

Baylham opens its doors for the 2020 season from TODAY, so depending on the weather it may be a good choice for the half term.

They are open Tuesdays – Sundays, 10am-5pm.

Ipswich Museum

A place that is never dependant on the weather is the Ipswich Museum, and it’s full of fascinating history and natural heritage.

They are open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm, and Sunday 11am – 5pm

Easton Farm Park

Easton Farm Park is closed this weekend due to storm Dennis, but is planning to reopen from Monday 17th, just in time for the start of half term.

Boasting a cafe, 30 acre Green Trail and play areas, there is plenty more than just the lovely animals to keep the kids occupied. They have also had a couple of newborn lambs, so pop down to have a cuddle.

Painting and colouring

Always popular with the kids is the old favourite ‘painting and colouring’. Cover your table with newspaper or an old sheet, and get the paints out. Kids can paint their favourite characters or maybe make some cards for their friends? How about painting or drawing a favourite animal seen at one of the parks or zoo?

Such a low cost and fun way to spend an afternoon.

Colchester Zoo

Colchester Zoo is popular all year round due to its various lovely animals, and I try to take my kids at least once a year. We are meeting up with friends to go this time.

They are holding a Fabzoolous Friends Event during the half term, with the chance to win prizes.

We are so lucky in Ipswich to have such a fantastic zoo so close to us!

They are open every day from 9.30am.

A Walk in the Park

Ipswich has some fantastic parks, Holywells on Cliff Lane and Christchurch Park on Bolton Lane, are two of my favourites. Another lovely park is Chantry Park, which I have fond memories of seeing Ed Sheeran last summer!

Take a ball for a kick about, let the kids have a muck about on the swings and slides, and get some fresh air into your lungs! If the weather is nice, you could always take a picnic. I may be being too optimistic here though!

Well, I hope that’s given you a few ideas to keep boredom away, and stop the kids from fighting with each other this half term! I will probably add to this as I find more ideas. Please comment below if you know of any good ones I have missed.
